What's happening: Dr. Starikovsky’s Latin III scholars traveled October 24th to Yale University Art Gallery at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, for a first-hand look at the oldest college art museum in the United States.
The focus of the trip was Greek mythology and Roman history, with each student responsible for making a short presentation at specific art pieces or artifacts.
Why it matters: Field trips connected to the curriculum provide great opportunities for students to make real-world connections and take their learning outside the school walls.
By the numbers: The gallery was founded in 1832 and today, it is one of the largest museums in the country, holding nearly 300,000 objects.
