What's happening: Students in the RHS “Design Thinking” course kicked off their corporate partnership with The New Jersey Hall of Fame.

  • Every year, RHS students in Design Thinking leverage two corporate partnerships to apply the design thinking process to help the company with an area of need.

The big picture: The RHS Design Thinking course, the first of its kind in New Jersey, is based upon Stanford University's d.school, teaching students how to use Human Centered Design Thinking to solve an array of problems.

  • After spending the first six weeks of the course in a Design Thinking "boot camp," students in the class are partnered with an outside company or organization in order to help them solve a real problem which they are facing.

Go deeper: To present relevant solutions to real-world problems for the New Jersey Hall of Fame, RHS students utilize the Design Thinking process:

Last week’s launch event helps the students empathize with their partner’s needs and begin to define the issues and possible solutions. They will explore:

  • How Might We attract more visitors to HOF?

  • How Might We form relationships with K-12 schools?

  • How Might We create meaningful experiences for HOF inductees?

What’s next: Students will continue brainstorming, visit NJHOF facilities, and present their final solutions in January. This collaboration exemplifies Ramsey High’s commitment to empowering students through real-world experience.
