Smith Drama Club

What's happening: On Friday, the Smith Drama Club debuted its one-night production of Romeo to Go, a fun take on the classic Romeo and Juliet.

Why it matters: This year Smith School has added a Fall Play to the event calendar for the first time, in addition to the long-standing Spring Musical. The Fall Play is a direct outgrowth of the investment that the district has put behind developing our theatre program, and reflects increased student interest in the dramatic arts. In addition, the play gives students a new way to get involved in theatre, who otherwise may not want to be in a full-fledged musical.

What they’re saying: “Romeo To Go was an unforgettable and collaborative experience for myself and the students. From creating the props, choosing their costumes, choreographing the dances, to designing the lighting and running the sound board, their dedication to creating a fun and vibrant performance was palpable in the room on Friday night. It is an honor to work with these incredible students everyday and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for the Smith School Fall Play.“ -Alyssa Fox, Smith School Theater Teacher
