What's Happening: This week nearly 30 RHS seniors have chosen to showcase their language skills, testing in five languages in pursuit of the prestigious New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy. Students who demonstrate proficiency in both English and an additional language will receive official recognition on their transcripts along with a formal recognition from the New Jersey Department of Education.
What they’re saying: "I’m incredibly proud of our students pursuing the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy. Their dedication highlights the excellence of our world language program and their enthusiasm for diverse languages and cultures.” said Brennan Heffernan, Supervisor of Social Studies & World Languages.
Why it matters: By highlighting their ability to communicate effectively in our multilingual world, the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy only celebrates cultural and linguistic diversity while providing a competitive edge in college admissions and future careers.
