What's happening: Twenty-eight Ramsey High School sophomore and junior pre-calculus students have stepped up to the challenge and participated in the first-ever Monmouth University Math Contest.
This rigorous, one-hour contest comprised nine questions covering Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Data Analysis/Statistics.
Why it Matters: The top five scores from Ramsey will form our “school team,” with scores sent to Monmouth University.
The top three participating schools and scorers will be honored on the Monmouth University mathematics website.
Additionally, top-scoring students will receive certificates recognizing their outstanding achievements.
What They’re Saying: “We’re happy to provide so many eager students the opportunity to enjoy participating and challenging themselves in mathematics in a low-pressure setting at the end of a successful year of learning! Our students strongly demonstrate their ability to think critically and creatively to approach such abstract problems.” -Melissa Cruz, Supervisor of Math & Business Education
Congratulations Rams! We are proud of your hard work and enthusiasm to take part in this voluntary opportunity.
